So the time has come to reveal the name of the lucky winner of our competition to win a trip over to the Politics Online Conference in Washington DC at the end of April.
We’ve certainly made you wait for a result. Unfortunately, first time round our choice of winner wasn’t able to make the revised date of the conference. So with a second shot at entries we decided to extend the entry criteria “so it’s not just limited to people who work in the public sector – those of you that work with the public sector and in the not-for-profit sector are also welcome to join in the fun.” Because of this we have been inundated with some really great entries that have been fun and inspiring to read so thanks for those!
Without further ado, FutureGov is proud to announce that the winner of our competition is Liz Azyan of the Local Government Engagement Online site. Liz is a PhD student at Royal Holloway, University of London in Egham in Surrey looking into the role of social media in improving local government and its citizen engagement online projects. Liz has been supporting and sharing best practice in and around the sector in recent months and is a a very worthy winner of the competition I’m sure you’ll agree.
Liz’s entry was imaginative, creative and well thought out showing her love of gov and passion to be a part of change. Don’t just take my word for it, here it is:

So what next for Liz? She will be reporting back on the event as it happens, so we’ll have updates from her here in April.
Last but not least, a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who has taken part in our competition. We really wish we could send you all, but we can’t. But make sure you come back in a month’s time and hear what Liz makes of it all.
Good choice. Well done Liz. Look forward to reading and listening to lots and lots from DC

Yes, an inspired choice. Liz has a track record for sharing her learning which means we’ll all be benefitting from her trip!
