Local by Social: social innovation for local government

Developments in the social web have provided us with significant opportunities to supercharge government’s (and society’s) ability to tackle some of the most intractable social problems. Web 2.0 provides government to better listen to, learn from and collaborate with users of public services to better co-determine and co-produce those services in a personalised and therefore inherently more effective and often efficient way.

Public Services 2.0: the now wave to the next wave

Here at Futuregov, we love nothing more than to bring together diverse groups of people together to listen and learn from each other to imagine the art of the possible, thinking of creative ways to work differently on and offline.

This month, we are teaming up with the IDeA (improvement and Development Agency for Local Government) to create an event to do exactly that. Building on their recent publication of Local by Social, the next FutureGov Network event will bring together both social innovators and local government colleagues to explore possibilities for how the two can work together and achieve the best possible outcomes locally in the emerging world of public services 2.0.

If you’d like to come along, sign up here. We look forward to seeing you!
