Today we’re pleased / over the moon to announce the launch of the first CityCamp London in partnership with CityCamp – and a bunch of great event partners who are making it possible for us to offer the event for free!
On a recent trip to Washington DC, I was lucky enough to meet Kevin Curry, creator of metropolitan meetups CityCamp. And was inspired.
CityCamp was first run in Chicago earlier this year in partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation bringing together a diverse group of gregarious govvies and non-govvies to imagine the ways in which technology and the web will shape the future of our cities.
Taking place from 8-10 October 2010, CityCamp LDN will build on the original highly successful camp. We are adding to the original camp format with cracking 48 hours of thinking and doing. It all kicks off on the Friday with an afternoon of talks and stimulate your imagination. On the Saturday, we’ll be bringing you together to participate, asking you to create your own agenda and get talking . CityCamp LDN will finish on the Sunday with a day for you to come together and collaborate, to work with people you’ve met over the weekend and create the projects you think will transform the city of London. There will even be people on hand to listen to your ideas and giving you the chance to get them funded.
So get registering for CityCamp LDN, start suggesting sessions for the Saturday – and we’ll see you there!
PS BIG thanks to Luke at GovFresh for his great work on the CityCamp LDN site. Liking his style…
