It’s the New Year, and preparations are now well under way for the first ever Councillor Camp this Saturday. The pink balloons are being blown up and the goodie bags are being filled, and (arguably a little more importantly) we’re pleased to be able to announce the full line up of speakers!
During the morning, we’ll have a series of lightning talks, highlighting some great case studies and digital tools, given by:
Cllr Jason Kitcat, Leader of Brighton and Hove City Council
Liz Ixer, from Harringay Online
Cllr Dean Russell, St Albans District Council and European Social Media Director at LEWIS PR
Mark Pack, Head of Digital at MHP Communications and Co-Editor of Liberal Democrat Voice
Merici Vinton, Senior Consultant at LBi London, former technology lead at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and North Carolina New Media Director for the Obama ’08 Campaign
Cllr David Harrington, Stockton-On-Tees Borough Council
Elizabeth Linder, Politics & Government Specialist at Facebook
Cllr Alice Perry, London Borough of Islington
And then, after our mini un-conference during the afternoon, our closing panel will review the day and look at what’s next for digital Councillor-ing.
The panel will be chaired by Jonathan Carr-West, Director at the LGiU, and include:
Cllr Peter Fleming, Leader of Sevenoaks District Council and Chair of the LGA Improvement & Innovation Board
Cllr Florence Nosegbe, London Borough of Lambeth
Cllr Lester Holloway, London Borough of Sutton
Catherine Howe, Chief Executive of Public-i
