It’s important to be proud of the work you do. I've worked in a lot of different industries; publishing, tech and policy before I came to FutureGov. It's always been work that I've been really proud of. If I'm not proud of the work anymore, or I can't see the value that it provides for others, I won’t do it. That's how I motivate myself and how I look for roles and responsibilities that really vibe with me.
When it comes to leadership, I identify with the element of delivery management that's about servant leadership. I'm not always the person that speaks first, nor do I want to be. I want people who don't feel like they can speak or advocate for themselves or make themselves known, to feel comfortable doing so. So 1:1s and team time are pretty sacred to me.
